TRAVEL WITH ME AROUND THE WORLD!

Updated: Jul 3, 2023

Happy 2023! This new year marks an exciting chapter for me as an emerging ecomythologist. I am so eager to help draw the connections between ocean life worldwide and highlight how life on land depends on marine health. Did you know almost 1/2 of the oxygen on Earth is produced in the massive body of water that covers our planet? This is the kind of thing you can learn more about from the activity packs in my Blue Marble Series.

Writing and publishing my first ocean exploration book, Beneath the Surface, with the support of my family, friends, and other readers is what has kept me afloat for the last three difficult years. It has been a dream come true in the midst of nightmarish environmental catastrophe and societal collapse. Yet the most exciting part about developing the Blue Marble Series is that it's all based on actual events that help readers to examine the possibilities of better tomorrows embedded in complicated problems, revealing the power to change and make the world a better place lies within our own hands.

Hope + Action = Change

My hope is that this adventure series will not only enlighten and delight all who read it but give them immediate activities and ideas for how to help wherever they are in the world. The next book focuses on resiliency and solutions to some of our biggest ocean threats.

The most exciting thing about following your dreams is that doors continue to keep opening for you, as long as you keep knocking. Persistence really is key. As I continue to search for grants and residencies that will allow me to travel south to the Gulf of Mexico and finish the sequel to Beneath the Surface, I'm also inviting you to be a part of it! The premise of the upcoming story is based on the recovery and resilience of local communities along the Gulf of Mexico affected by the 2010 BP Deepwater Horizon disaster. The moral of the story is that loving and respecting the intelligence of all life on Earth and within our seas can prevent ecosystem devastation and save us all.

Every human-made problem has at least one good human-made solution, so there's always reason for hope and improvement.

Your support and interest in Beneath the Surface could help inspire more ocean lovers and protectors abroad. All ebook/audiobook/activity pack purchases go toward providing FREE resources for students enrolled in Dr. Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots (Global) youth leadership program.
