Rooted In Detroit
FUN FACT: Did you know Detroit has over 3,000 urban agriculture spaces?

Each urban agricultural site is so unique, with its own back story and community members. It's been a pleasure for me to contribute to Planet Detroit's "Rooted in Detroit: Stories from the Soil" and highlight one of these incredible city gems:

In just 7 years, just down the road from her children's high school, Urban Bush Sistah's Community & Market Garden founder Nan’Chang Thompson-Springer transformed three vacant lots in her neighborhood.
The transformative space offers all kinds of education and workshops, in addition to providing fresh, home-grown, organic fruits, vegetables, and eggs -- amongst other small-batch, locally made items like herbal tinctures, honey and soap.
Urban Bush Sistah's Community & Market Garden is an intentional space, inspired by spiritual practice, designed to nourish the mind, body and soul.
If you're in the Detroit area, make sure to sign up for Nan'Chang's newsletter and follow her on social media for future offerings and updates.
